Lufthansa announced New flights from Scotland to Germany

German airline Lufthansa has announced that it will launch service connecting Inverness, in Scotland with Dusseldorf, Germany, beginning in the summer of 2009.The flight will operate on Saturdays during the June-September period.The airport operator, Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL), has commented that the new flights were welcome news for the local economy.Lufthansa’s announcement of the new service follows in the wake of Icelandair cancelling scheduled flights between Glasgow and Reykjavik until next March.
