US Airways will add new service between Washington National and Ohio's Akron-Canton Airport (CAK). The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced that it is granting two slots to U.S. Airways to operate services between Akron-Canton Airport, Ohio, and Washington D.C.'s Ronald Reagan National Airport.

the Akron-Canton airport says it has been "seeking service to DCA for more than a decade" and that CAK "officials consider this a big win for the airport and the region because landing rights at the very desirable close-in Reagan National Airport are restricted by the US government and highly coveted by all communities."

"LAN Airlines has announced sale fares for travel to several destinations from the U.S.Round-trip services to Lima start at $298 from Miami, $338 from New York, $698 from Los Angeles and $458 from Washington D.C.

Buenos Aires round-trip flights start at $688 for services from Miami, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and New York, while round-trip fare from Miami to Santiago is $758 and Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C. to Santiago is for $858.

Tickets must be booked by December 10 and travel must take place between February 1 and June 15, 2009. Fares exclude taxes and charges."

The AirTran has been lanched new flights from Harrisburg to Orlando yesterday.

"Daily flights will depart Harrisburg at 12:22pm and arrive in Orlando at 2:55pm. On the return journey, services will take off from Orlando at 9:20am and arrive at Harrisburg at 11:46am. All times are local."

Northwest Airlines will stop their services between Seattle and London from January 8, 2009.
Passengers with tickets booked for travel after January 8 are advised to contact the carrier. Those who wish to fly on the route should note that British Airways still offers services between the two cities.Northwest still plans to go ahead with its Seattle to Beijing service which is due to start on March 1, 2009.
