Northwest Airlines will stop their services between Seattle and London from January 8, 2009.
Passengers with tickets booked for travel after January 8 are advised to contact the carrier. Those who wish to fly on the route should note that British Airways still offers services between the two cities.Northwest still plans to go ahead with its Seattle to Beijing service which is due to start on March 1, 2009.

"Eva Airways announced On today, it would start daily direct flights to China next month amid Taiwan's warming ties with the mainland.

The move, part of an expanded flight agreement across the Taiwan Straits, would allow Eva Air to fly to the Chinese cities of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen, James Jeng, the company's president, told reporters at a briefing.

"We will maximize the benefits of these flights, and will be broadening our co-operation with Chinese airlines," he said.

The increased number of flights come after officials from China and Taiwan signed deals earlier this month on daily direct flights, new cargo routes and food safety during Beijing's highest-level visit to its political rival in 60 years."

Delta airlines announced that it will introduce 15 new international routes on next summer from united states to various destination. Delta recently takeover of Northwest to create the world's biggest airline by traffic. Due to weak domestic economy, targeting international routes are more profitable. Delta said it will add the more new international flights between the united States and Japan, Kenya, South Africa, Liberia, Nigeria, Angola, Equatorial Guinea, Sweden, Spain, Czech Republic and Switzerland.

"Effective November 12, 2008, for travel on or after December 5, 2008, customers will be charged $15 for their first checked bag. Customers who purchased tickets on or before November 11, 2008, will not be charged for their first checked bag. AirTran Airways will continue to charge $25 for a second checked bag and $50 for each additional bag."
