AirTran Airways Announces New Checked Baggage Policy

"Effective November 12, 2008, for travel on or after December 5, 2008, customers will be charged $15 for their first checked bag. Customers who purchased tickets on or before November 11, 2008, will not be charged for their first checked bag. AirTran Airways will continue to charge $25 for a second checked bag and $50 for each additional bag."

Allegiant Air announced new nonstop jet service from Owensboro to Orlando. beginning Feb. 18, 2009. The low–fare carrier will celebrate the convenient new service to the Sunshine State, with introductory fares as low as $69* each way.

out of Owensboro."

The new flights to Orlando will operate twice weekly, with service Wednesday and Saturday. Flights will depart Owensboro–Daviess County Regional Airport at 9:20 a.m. arriving in Orlando Sanford International Airport at 12:20 p.m. Flights leaving Orlando will depart at 7:35 a.m. arriving in Owensboro at 8:40 a.m.

Qatar Airways start Online Check-In Service

"Qatar Airways passengers departing from the airline’s hub in Doha can now check-in online at qatarairways.com. This service is available for all passengers flying with the Five Star airline out of Doha International Airport with the exception of those travelling to New York or Washington.

The new online check-in service, accessible on the airline’s website qatarairways.com allows passengers in all classes of travel to check-in between 36 and 2 hours prior to departure from the comfort of their home or office. They can choose a seat, print a boarding pass or have a bar-coded boarding pass sent to a mobile phone in simple and convenient easy-to-use steps.

For passengers with baggage that needs to be checked-in, they can use the dedicated ‘Fast Bag Drop’ counters located in the departures hall of the main terminal. Those with carry-on bags can proceed directly to the gate after completing the necessary immigration and security procedures.

Boarding pass scanners have been rolled out throughout the airport to ensure a faster service for online check-in passengers.

First and Business Class passengers, who use the online check-in service and are departing from Qatar Airways’ Premium Terminal in Doha, can use any of the check-in counters to drop off their luggage."
